These pages were set up to demonstrate how easily the HTG website can be set up, hosted, and maintained under the auspices of the NZSS website, yet maintain its own identity.
Hamilton Tomo Group (HTG) is a caving group based in Waitomo. The membership is approximately 60 people. We always welcome newcomers to caving as well as cavers from other clubs, both national and international.
The club base is its hut, close to Waitomo village. From here HTG plans its caving activities and holds its many social functions. The natives are friendly!!
Waitomo is the north island's largest caving area and has about 400 explored systems both horizontal and vertical. Waitomo village is about 150kms south of Auckland, and is home to the New Zealand Speleological Society (NZSS) as well as the world famous Glow-worm Cave.
